If that sounds like you, keep reading.
Why this role might be exactly what you’ve been looking for
At Blue Trident, this isn’t a traditional corporate HR role.
We are a growing design, engineering, and construction firm supporting complex projects across multiple states and federal clients. That means we need an HR leader who understands the realities of project-based environments, evolving workforce needs, and the importance of building strong relationships across both office and field teams.
You won’t be buried under administrative tasks or stuck maintaining someone else’s systems.
Instead, you’ll step into a role where you can:
- Own and shape the HR function for a growing AEC company
- Strengthen and optimize systems that are already in place (especially iSolved)
- Build trust across the organization as the go-to HR partner for employees and leadership
- Have a real voice with leadership on people, process, compliance, and growth
This is a role for someone who wants to make things better, not just maintain them.
What you’ll actually be doing
You’ll own the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on doing the fundamentals exceptionally well:
Compliance & HR Foundation
- Ensure compliance across multiple states based on where employees live and where projects are performed
- Maintain policies, documentation, and reporting requirements
- Serve as the internal expert on HR best practices
Benefits & Employee Programs
- Manage and improve current benefits offerings
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees and providers
- Evaluate opportunities to strengthen overall competitiveness
HR Systems & Process Improvement
- Optimize and fully leverage iSolved
- Document and improve workflows across onboarding, performance management, and employee records
- Identify opportunities to create more consistency and efficiency
Employee Experience & Support
- Be a visible, approachable HR presence across the company
- Support managers with employee relations and performance conversations
- Help foster a positive, engaged, and accountable culture
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Partner with leadership on hiring needs
- Support recruiting efforts and ensure a strong candidate experience
- Lead onboarding and ensure new hires are set up for success
What makes someone successful in this role
You’re someone who:
- Brings a strong foundation in HR compliance and multi-state employment law
- Understands the dynamics of project-based, technical, or field-driven organizations and can adapt HR support accordingly
- Is comfortable working independently in a growing company
- Enjoys both structure and people
- Can move between details and big picture without losing momentum
- Takes pride in creating systems that actually work
What you bring
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification
- 5+ years of HR experience, ideally within AEC (architecture, engineering, construction), consulting engineering, or other project-based environments
- Experience with HRIS systems (iSolved preferred)
- Strong understanding of benefits administration and compliance
- A practical, solutions-oriented approach
What you’ll get in return
- A role where your work has visible impact every day
- Direct access to leadership and the ability to influence decisions
- The opportunity to build and improve, not just maintain
- A collaborative, growing organization where your voice matters
